Everyone loves the fairytale appeal of the perfect celebrity couple finally getting married and walking down the aisle. We can never seem to get enough of them. In fact, at the end of every year, almost every major magazine or celebrity news outlet has some kind of list of memorable celebrity weddings (and divorces of course). After a wild, surprise romance that came out of nowhere, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise got married despite Scientologist-related controversy and constant tabloid backlash. The two were wed in an Italian castle, where they both wore Armani and were united in front of their closest celebrity friends.
Celebrity weddings are always some of the tabloid’s favorite fodder, and they certainly live up to their expectations. Million dollar dresses, rings, ceremonies, dress with foot long trains, crowds of a few hundred ‘closest friends’, most of which are superstars themselves… No wonder we love watching.
Another royal wedding (and another complete fairytale wedding) is that of the late Princess Diana and Prince Charles, which was perhaps the wedding of the decade. Women everywhere adored Diana, and followed her every move through the media in the days following up to her wedding. The bride wore a dress with a 25-foot train and over 10,000 sequins sewn on. There has always been a fascination with royal weddings and unions, and Diana and Charles was perhaps the most famous.
