As he proved in his last film role in 8 Mile, hip-hop megastar Eminem isn’t afraid of confrontation – but his second appearance on the silver screen is set to take it up a gear.

While he excelled during rap battles in the 2002 film, his new role in boxing drama Southpaw is set to see him put his dukes up in the ring as a welterweight fighter.

According to film news source Deadline, the DreamWorks picture will be written by Kurt Sutter, known for his work on TV series Sons of Anarchy.

The film is set to tell the story of a boxer’s climb to the top and fall from grace when tragedy strikes.

After being impressed by Eminem – real name Marshall Mathers III – in 8 Mile, Sutter sought to get the music star involved in another film project.

However, the rapper proved to be “very selective” about the projects he’d consider away from the music world – until Southpaw was put on the table.

Sutter revealed that Mathers is already a big boxing fan and the pair agreed that it could provide an apt metaphor for his own struggles in life. He added that the movie will in some ways be a “continuation” of the story in 8 Mile, although there is no suggestion it will feature the same characters or setting.

“I love that the title refers to Marshall being a lefty, which is to boxing what a white rapper is to hip hop – dangerous, unwanted and completely unorthodox,” Sutter told the news source. “It’s a much harder road for a southpaw than a right handed boxer.”

However, don’t hold your breath for film trailers for the flick any time soon – Sutter isn’t expecting to submit a draft of the script until February 2011. As and when the project comes to fruition, it will join a long and celebrated lineage of boxing movies which have delighted movie fans and film review writers for decades.

Even the most casual film fan will have seen at least one of the Rocky films, but the likes of 2004′s Oscar-winning Million Dollar Baby and Will Smith’s portrayal of Cassius Clay in Ali are also popular among fans of the sport. Then of course, there’s the classics such as The Harder They Fall and The Set-Up – must-sees for anyone who loves seeing the thrill of the fight up on the silver screen.

Fire Fighters, policeman, emergency medical technicians etc….etc . The list goes on, and I’m fairly certain that you get the point. All these careers have something in common, the men and women who work these careers every day have signed up for some dangerous work. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure its all very rewarding, and these men and women are our local heroes every day. But you have to hand it to them, because from day to day they see some pretty horrific stuff. They work through horrible and tragic events, and still manage to sleep at night so they can wake up every morning to do it all over again. And they do all this for each and every one of us.

In the movie, Brooklyn’s Finest, you look at the lives of three law enforcement officers. Each of them going through their own struggle’s and making it through every day. It’s a long and grueling movie to watch at best but I would have to say we should all see this film.

One of the main characters is at the end of his career. He has only days left on the job, and he is just trying to make it to the end of those days.  Eddie, is a middle-aged over worked under paid and underappreciated cop on the streets of new york.  We get to see him in the movie waking up to take a drink of Irish whiskey and put the end of a revolver in his mouth and proceed to pull the trigger. He does this in an almost fluid like repetition, you can tell its definitely not the first time he’s pulled that trigger or drank that whiskey.  Eddie is portrayed by the amazing Richard Gere.

Our next main character, whom we see a lot of in this film, is an undercover cop named Tango. Tango, Played by Don Cheadle, is losing grip over his real life due to how deep into his cover life he has become. We watch him meeting with his lieutenant or commanding officer in the beginning of the film at a cop bar. He is telling him how he needs his life back, how he wants a suit and a desk. His CO has to deliver some bad news, and this is where we find out that his wife is divorcing him. Who could blame her right? I mean after two years of deep undercover work in the field it’s a surprise he even remembers his own real name or what his actual job is. He struggles with wanting to do the right thing throughout the movie even if its for the wrong people.

Ethan Hawke plays our third main character entitled Sal. Sal has a wife and three kids with a set of twins on the way. He, somewhere in the movie, blurs the thin line separating right and wrong. He does all the wrong things for all the right reasons, his family. He is so stressed out all throughout the movie in the pursuit of a different house because the one he lives in has mold. The only thing is he can’t afford to move. He is living and supporting his family off of a cops salary and hasn’t had a raise in four years, he thinks that the only way to happiness is stealing drug money on the job. Everything he does he did for his family and that’s all that matters.

This movie is a gripping rollercoaster of a ride, not for the faint of heart. I have to say that after watching this I have a new found respect for the police officers of this great country of ours. The things they see, the stuff they deal with. They are out there fighting every day to protect and serve all of us and their lives usually end up messed up because of it. So next time a cop pulls you over, or stops you in the street try not to give them any shit because they definitely don’t deserve it.

Alice In Wonderland Movie Review

“Off with their heads!” is the phrase that will haunt Alice’s therapy sessions for years to come as she deals with her dreams of caterpillars who smoke, cats who smile and mad Johnny Depp wearing silly hats and an awful red wig. Of course, the Deppster remains, to quote the girls behind me, “ridiculously hot”. Go figure.One Word Movie Review: GOOD

Alice in Wonderland is a 3D crayola fantasy for about an hour and then turns into Joan D’Arc slaying the Dragon because it is her destiny – written on that long scrolly-thing we’ve seen about a hundred times in the movie so we don’t forget. Predictable story aside, the theater was sold out on opening night and this movie will do huge business and Johnny Depp can write his own ticket to do anything he wants.However, the full house was quiet throughout and no cheers or clapping rang out at the end so this movie will open but not have the legs to sustain the mountain of Alice-related products Disney has licensed from clothing to tea pots. So sad.

Then there is the riddle of the raven, passed down from the book to irritate and confound many generations of fans, including a new legion with this movie! The film is full of eye candy in a View-Master stereoscopic way, with fine performances by all the actors – I mean who wouldn’t want to play a big red-head Queenie and scream “off with their heads!” at the drop of a hat?

Hats drop aplenty, and poor Alice gets tall and small and the Cheshire Cat grins and poofs away. It’s all there, and in 3D so the scones fly right at you and the red card/guards poke away in your face and who can forget the extended fall down the rabbit hole? In 3D, it’s a giant hole in the ground full of pianos and beds and it makes you yearn for a remake of The Wizard of Oz just to see Dorothy’s house swept up in the tornado in 3D. Oh my, would that be something!

The story is familiar, with a few twists, with Alice much older and full of memories of her strange dream she had as a child. Now she is all grown up, fiercely independent and missing her father, named Charles Kingsley, author of that other dear children’s fantasy book, The Water-Babies. Charlie convinced Alice that the best people in life are absolutely mad and every day should start with imagining six impossible things before breakfast. So, we get to hear these sage pearls again and again as the movie tells the tale of the red queen vs. the white queen and who will save our hero, the Mad Hatter. Once we meet the usual crowd of Wonderland oddballs, we are meant to care deeply about the White Queen’s vow of pacifism, Alice’s tiresome insistence she’s not a dragon/Jabberwock slayer and oh, that this is all a dream and she will wake up soon. Most of all, she insists she’s not the “real” Alice. Well we all know she is, so spare us the suspense, please.

Anyway, the director Tim Burton takes the Mad Hatter’s advice and does everything vigorously, with great battles on checkerboards, scorched-earth vistas smoldering artfully and cute little animal furniture scurrying underfoot. There is a restlessness about the land, with lots of rushing about and screaming and retrieving of swords from doghouses. Yes, the sword is the key to slaying the fearsome Jabberwock and defeat big head Red Queenie. It all ends as predicted, including Alice returning to the real world and turning down the geeky Lord’s marriage proposal. No, she’d rather take a slow boat to China just like her dad would have done if he was still alive. So she sails away with her memories of Underland (not Wonderland – that’s for kids), a determination to think of six more impossible things before breakfast every morning and making sense of why a raven is like a writing desk. The classic children’s fantasy genre is Disney’s gold mine, heigh-ho, heigh-ho. Alice has inspired many movies, plays, comic books, video games and songs and influenced more drug trips than any other creative source. In this version, she is dumbed down and modernized to today’s version of an ideal woman. When you see her in shiny armor, sword in hand, the Force with her, golden locks tossed in the air as she brings the mighty blade down on the neck of the Jabberwock, well it is a Lord of the Rings/Star Wars/Harry Potter moment. At least, the film tries for that.

Personally, I like my Alice taking the drugs to get small and her only violence is the stomping of her foot when things get too silly. There is oodles of money to be made here and Disney will squeeze every dime out of this franchise.Helen Bonham Carter is funny and creepy as the big head Queenie. Johnny Depp is surprisingly heroic as the Mad Hatter, bringing his Jack Sparrow to the tea party. Mia Wasikowska is delicately restrained as Alice, fragile yet curious and confident as she navigates through her role of arranged bride/gladiator/liberated Victorian.

Tim Burton has been in this type of world before, so his images and designs are not as fresh as earlier efforts, but he does assemble a convincingly weird Wonderland, but it pales in primary color comparison with the world of Avatar we’ve all seen now as the standard for 3D fantasy environments.

The View-Master look of the scenery struck me about half-way through the film. I remember as a kid clicking through those picture reels with joyous wonder and I had some deja-vu moments with the castle scenes in this movie. The music is forgettable and we’ve already covered the ho-hum story, with the repetitive plot points and Lord of the Rings ending.

In the end, like the crowd in the theater with me, I was disappointed. Alice delivers to formula rather than flying into the fantastic-sphere.

“WARNING!” screams the DVD sleeve. “Contains provocative and explicit scenes of violence!” The blurb would rather say “WARNING! Yet another piss-awful film by Ulli Lommel!” Everybody who’s seen Lommel’s “Serial Killer Collection” knows what to expect.
German Ulli Lommel started out as an art-house director before he travelled to the U.S.A., where he made the rather odd horror hit THE BOOGEY MAN. Lommel continued making a string of B-movies during the 80s, but then he kind of disappeared. I don’t know what he was up to, maybe he’s been making movies all the time, what do I know, but I can’t say I’ve been wondering.
Then, a couple of years ago, Lommel realized that you can shoot feature films really fast and cheap using a video camera, and it didn’t take long before he flooded the market with buckets of horror movies. I haven’t seen all of them, but the ones I have seen were painful to watch. Sometimes you joke and say that certain movies look like they were shot in one day – but when it comes to Lommel, I wouldn’t be surprised if they really WERE shot in one day! They’re all about 80 minutes, they have few locations, few actors, dialogue and plot seem improvised, and 75% of the movies are filler scenes; strange scenes in slow-motion, snippets of film played backwards, unmotivated tracking shots and scenes where people don’t do anything at all. Add splashes of blood and rubbery bodyparts, randomly thrown in by Lommel.
The sleeve of this film claims it’s based on H.P. Lovecraft’s shortstory “The Tomb”. I don’t know my Lovecraft by heart and I’ve no idea if he’s written a story with this title, but I’m pretty damn sure it doesn’t have very much to do with this excuse for a movie – more than the name Charles Dexter Ward, which is stolen from another, more well-known Lovecraft story. One of the movie’s leads claims the killer of the story is obsessed by Lovecraft.
THE TOMB plays more like a cash-in on SAW, but on a three dollar budget. A couple of blood drenched people wake up in some kind of storage room, crammed with scary dolls and stuff and coffins and TV monitors showing images of peoples getting tortured and killed. A mysterious kidnapper and killer is hidden somewhere and speaks into a microphone and wants his prisoners to follow leads that will reveal his identity. And then…
…nothing much happens. Almost nothing at all happens during the 81 minutes this movie lasts. Sometimes we get to see a man jogging on a beach. Sometimes we see a woman crossing a parking lot. Sometimes a masked woman is horseback riding. Sometimes we see these scenes in fast-motion. Sometimes we see the scenes backwards. Sometimes people get an axe in the head. Sometimes they find screaming people trapped in coffins. Who is the mysteious killer? What does he want? Do you really think I care?
Once again, it looks like the movie was shot in one day. THE TOMB is more or less unwatchable. It’s an endurance test. Congrats if you manage to watch it from beginning to end without taking several long breaks.

You’ll hate yourself if you buy or rent THE TOMB.

There has been a lot of discussion on television, in books, on the news, the radio, even in the movies about the planetary alignment and its conjunction with the end point of the maya long count calendar on midnight on the winter solstice December the 21st of 2012. The only thing that amazes me really so far is that so many people are just becoming aware of this event and date, as if it suddenly just appeared on TV one day and that is what validates their concern. I cannot speak for anyone but myself…but I come from about as redneck and uneducated family as the great state of Kentucky can produce genetically – and I learned of the maya calendar and its predictive endpoint back in grade school (7th or 8th grade) by reading the World Book Encyclopedia in the Ancient cultures of South America sections of the texts. Not that it gave me more than rudimentary understanding. Yet I knew long before I graduated high school, long before the LA riots happened in 1996, long before Y2K, long before 911, and apparently long before about a million ‘dumbfounded men and women saw that stupid 2012 movie that is just now coming out on DVD and Blue Ray.

I find it odd that most Christians I have discussed it with scoff at the idea that anything about the maya long count could even be relevant or worrisome. As one elderly lady said to me recently, “Those savages didn’t know how to tell time, they didn’t even have language other than grunting and primitive sounds to communicate…”

Okay if anyone reading this agrees with that woman’s statement, I want you to go outside right now with your biggest King James Bible and your largest caliber weapon at hand, looking up at the stars and shoot yourself right in the head. The Maya long count is not only more accurate than the Roman Calendar by leaps and bounds. The reason is, because it is a solar astronomical calendar that was developed and fine tuned for several thousand years before the smartest of the Viking barbarians, or the Chinese monastics, or the oldest African tribal societies even built the first sundial, waterclock, or watched a dung beatle follow the rotation of the sun. In short the Maya never said much of anything that is recorded concerning the end of the calendar…

Except possibly one prophecy / or notation that was found in the Pyramid of the Sun and the Temple of the Jaguars near Technochitlan.,,it is also rumored to have been found on stoneworkings of Machu Picchu but not ever confirmed. And most evidence of this has been destroyed by archeological poachers and thieves from the original dig sites.

We do know that Father Kino, Cortez, and possibly Ponce de Leon heard of this prophecy I am talking about. Father Kino in fact wrote his best translation from the Codex that had been mostly ripped to shreds by Cortez himself almost a centry before. Now I am not saying or interpreting this for anyone nor do I really wish to, so please do not ask me to play dogmatic hollywood squares after I publish this – my source is a tribal family elder who is Navajo, although his mother was Aztec bloodline, a former Code talker in World War II and a very old man now, who would not want to be known or sought by the public. But ten years ago this family friend discussed the 2012 planetary alignment with me in detail.

And this is the only part that I have never heard anyone talk of since on any program, textbook, or casual conversation, not at all. He claimed to have learned it from his mother by oral tradition in Azteca language originally. It has not name, it is the last known prophecy, of the last day of the Earth, on midnight of 12 / 21 2012…(and as all prophetic writings always are, keep in mind it is metaphoric, cryptic and possibly not a true carry over from the maya codcies at all. But I thought perhaps someone out there may find the additonal info to be useful in some way. Blake4d…

It was recited to me as follows : “There will be thirteen heavens of decreasing choice, and nine hells of increasing doom,,at their intersections shall the empires of the sun meet at the crossroads of the sea. The Lord of the Dawn he wil be called, and he tends to the Tree of Life. He said,’You will not know me by miracles, magicians can perform miracles; You will know me by the Tree…but he will do miracles.’ He is a great master and he wears a strange mask, and before the end…he will take it off. And we will be surprised who he really is, Be ready for the hour…’

And that is the last footnote made by the maya , the last long count prophecy before their civilization would quickly collapse.

(The Maya Calendar depicted here was called “the Haab”, the Maya solar calendar of 365 days. It was divided into 18 months of 20 days each with a period of 5 days left over at the end of the year. This short 5 day month is called Uayeb, “the resting or sleep of the year”. The Maya also used another calendar of 260 days called the sacred round or Tzolkin composed of 13 months of 20 days. A cycle of 52 solar years, called the calendar round was also used. The calendar round of 52 years included both the Haab and Tzolkin calendars intermeshing with each other. Any specific day in the 260 day calendar had a unique corresponding position in the 360 day calendar but that corresponding position would not repeat itself again for 52 solar years. This calendar sculpture shows the Maya God of Time at the center, supporting the burden of time on his back. He is surrounded by the hieroglyphs of the 19 months. )

– According to a fan in attendance at this week’s RAW, arena staff prematurely allowed several fans into the Amway Center on Monday for RAW. Once inside, the fans saw Vince McMahon, Triple H, members of The Nexus, John Cena, The Miz, Randy Orton and several agents in the ring rehearsing what would be the show’s main event. Security personnel then ushered the fans out of the arena for another 15 minutes or so. Ooops!

–The Rock called in today on O&A, said that he was happy that Linda McMahon ran for senator in CT, said he’s happy making movies, talked about Mick Foley a bit.

He then plugged his “Faster” movie, says Billy Bob Thornton and others are in the “Faster”. He then talks about what the movie “Faster” is about, then says after having his last match with Brock Lesnar he then decided to go into the movies.

He complimented Steve O on the “Jackass 3D” movie, then says he either does his own stunts in movies or has stunt people do his own stunts. He says in his early days he’s worked with great acting coaches for his movies.

Dwayne says he and McMahon co-owns “The Rock” name, says this all goes back to his grandfather & dad working with McMahon which had McMahon decide for the co-ownership.

Johnson says he was at the tail end of McMahon’s “kiss my ass” fan club and says at the time, those moments were the best times when it was WWF. O&A all talk about Mae Young giving birth to a hand, Stephanie being chained into the boiler room, Shane McMahon taking bumps.

Dwayne says that Shane’s got business overseas and thinks he may have had some meetings with UFC’s Dana White. He says Shane’s always willing to bust his ass into the wrestling business. Opie and Anthony said Shane probably had no choice but to be in wrestling given he was Vince’s son.

Dwayne says that Brock Lesnar was so passionate about wrestling in the beginning and at the end of the day, he felt “f*** it”.

Muslims & Islam; Under Siege, Pressures In America, Still!

Muslims in America, and particularly in New York City, are under sustained barrages of attacks. The latest in the salvo, is the palpable fear . Some in America seem to be subscribing to the silliness, that those who are not Christians and not of our ethnic group, are not entirely human.

But,actually, when we devalue others, we devalue ourselves and all humanity.

American Muslims are afraid to celebrate the Ramadan at the end of this fasting season. Thousands of Muslims in America are now operating under fear of physical attacks. Thousands of Muslims have publicly express fears of attacks as reprisal for the September 11, 2001 acts 19 hijackers, which has been tied around the necks of the Islam and Muslims, and as such, the fasting season this year ends coincidentally on or about September 11, 2010.

American Muslims have expressed the fear that they may be accused of celebrating the anniversary of September 11, attacks. Some bigots have already accused Muslims of celebrating and gloating by planning to build this much talked about Islamic Cultural Center in the general neighborhood of Ground Zero

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Fareed Zakaria a renowned journalist, and now, President Barack Obama has joined the many voices confronting the upsurge of Islamophobia in America, very courageously!

Museum of tolerance just opened up a museum of irony, because it is against Mosque near ground zero. It is quite an irony that an entity which styles itself as an Anti Defamation League, has joined the bandwagon of bigots, fear-mongers and campaigners of calumny against efforts to build an Islamic Center, Mosque and religious-cultural center.

It is exceedingly clear that a huge chunk or large segment of the American public are stridently opposed to Islam. Too many Americans now exhibit overall hostility to Islam, in many states, the construction of new mosques, Islamic centers, renovations, and expansions are receiving vehement resistance, Jewish group the so-called Anti Defamation League, Religious Liberty Commission of the Baptist Convention are opposing mosques, how do you defend religious freedom and freedom of worship, but oppose mosques?

Would American be having this conversation if a synagogue or a Catholic church was being contemplated for a few blocs from Ground Zero?. It is clear that some think Islam is not an American religion and as such, does not deserve same or identical protection as other so-called mainstream American religions

The now controversial mosque in New York is not across, adjacent or close to Ground Zero as is being alleged. It is actually a considerable distance from the swath of city neighborhood which was labeled and dubbed the so-called Ground Zero. The emotions surrounding this swath of land, has delayed rebuilding and rebirth in the aftermath of September 11. Wouldn’t rebuilding and rebounding with even more extraordinary edifices and monuments, larger, taller and grander, be a better way to prove a point? But emotions have since stalled, stymied and stunted pace of rebuilding on Ground Zero. Does this all mean that if I owned a private property on 51 Park Place, I could not sell to whomever I want? Or that I could not use my piece of land in the general neighborhood for any purpose, so long as it is not illegal? The truth of the matter is that, there is a church directly opposite Ground Zero! All Christians are saints?

President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg, Fareed Zakaria and many others are right to take respectful offense at the suggestion, and these selectively invoked outrage, by some, that, of one group, ignore the feelings of other groups. Why is it okay to pick on Muslims in connection with building this mosque? The truth is that there has always been a mosque in this same exact neighborhood now being claimed as mosque and Islam free zone in this very religious, culturally diverse plural and multicultural New York City

Why do some want to generalize about Muslims and Islam, merely because of the acts of a few? If this prejudice and bigotry being demonstrated against Islam and its adherents is not hypocritical and illogical, why don’t we apply the same logic and rules to Timothy McVeigh Christianity and its adherents subsequent to the Oklahoma City bombing? Why haven’t American generalize against Christians and Christianity after the dastardly acts of the Reverend Jim Jones or David Koresh? Americans of Japanese descent should not be allowed to live near Pearl Harbor, Sinto Shrine 3 miles away from Pearl Harbor.

Shall we ostracize members of Unabomber Ted Kaczynski or Joseph Stack who flew a plane into an Internal Revenue Service building in Texas this year. What shall we do to all Catholics? In view of the fact that pedophile Catholic priests raped and defiled and sexually molested hundreds of thousands of innocent children worldwide! We must we show selective righteous indignation and outrage against the behavior of some Muslim extreme, and then, wage a worldwide crusade against Islam and Muslims, but, we are splendidly uninterested and unwilling to apply the same illogical generalizations against Christians? The truth is, the fact is, the evidence is, all things considered, history reflects Christians or persons who profess Christianity, have caused and inflicted more horrors and brutalities on the human race, and yet, I am not quite willing to generalize against ALL those who profess or claim to be devout Christian. Not all those who claim to be Christians are good Christians, similarly, of course, so it goes, that not all those who claim to be Muslims are good Muslims. Additionally, it has to be said that there are virtues and vices in all humans and in all religions worldwide. Those Christians who claim otherwise, should quit their hypocrisy and holier than thou sanctimony!

We cannot and should not, must not, set a different standard or rules for American Muslims, to which American Jews, American Christians are not similarly subjected. Those who perpetuated slavery, colonialism and apartheid are “devout” Christians and so are those brought about the First and Second World Wars. And the sexed up lies and deceits and canards which led to the invasion and occupation of Iraq, and the consequent deaths, maiming of hundreds of thousands, and the displacement of millions by the ongoing conflicts and conflagration in Iraq. Christians are the ones causing “collateral damage” with predator drones in civilian populated zones in Afghanistan, so, why must we selectively target and generalize against Islam and Muslims? Why must anyone pretend that it is right to punish a billion Muslims for the sins of a few extremists? Why must anyone pretend that is good policy to ignore the root causes of anger in the Muslim world anyway? Is it blood lust or there are root causes for animosity and chasms?

Since September 11, 2001, 140 Muslims have been accused and or tried for terrorism or activities related to terrorism. The American government as such has played a dominant role in stereotyping Muslims as terrorists, This is identical to the Red Scare during the Cold War era and McCarthyism in which anyone with liberal views were regarded as socialist communists and were hounded, among them, German Americans, Italian Americans and of course, the much maligned African Americans

When a hospital has a prayer room is it a church? Or why the fear-mongering about the fact that the planned Islamic Cultural Center will be huge and have a mosque within?
There are Jewish Centers in New York City which have prayer space such as 92nd Street Y, and the so-called Ground Zero Mosque is actually an Islamic Cultural and Community Center with prayer space

The fact is that many Muslims died during the World Trade Center. And there were Muslims who were part of the rescuers and firs responders after the attack at the World Trade Center. There should be churches, synagogue built in lower Manhattan, but, the area should be mosque free zone, this is Islamophobia to single out mosque and Islam. Quite ironically, Rich Lazio and members of his Republican Party are the underbelly vested in promoting anti Islam unreasoned emotionalism. This is particularly shameful, given the fact that the Republican Party and its Siamese religious conservatives are usually predictably pro-God, but, all of a sudden, religion, is the enemy, when it comes to Islam and Muslims? There are so many Republican Party members who are fanning the embers of hatred and bigotry, as they seek to make political hays out of this debate about a mosque, Islam and Muslims. These Republican Party members are seeking to exploit the debate for purely political benefits, and so, they have made very inflammatory comments to exacerbate the emotions on all sides of the debate!

Mayor Mike Bloomberg of New York City and Fareed Zakaria, a world renown journalist are men of courage. In the face of anti Islam and anti Muslims protests in New York City in opposition to the proposed Mosque and Islamic Center in Manhattan, these two public figure have tackled bigots and hecklers who are deploying inappropriate language and attitudes to oppose and prevent the building of a Mosque and in Islamic Center. The flimsy and fuzzy arguments are hinged on the fact that the proposed monument is too close to World Trade Center or Ground Zero the epicenter of the specter of attacks on September 11, 2001

Mayor Bloomberg in a straight forward manner, condemned and denounced those who have exhibited so much prejudices and bigotries in their opposition against the Islamic Center and Mosque project. Mayor Bloomberg told these acerbic opponents where to shove their unconstitutional
