Any one who can write should be able to write a movie review and post it on-line to make money. Are you an avid movie fan and searching for a way to make money off of writing movie reviews? Are you a movie fan who has spent many, many afternoon watching old movies and what to make money from all your hours sitting the in dark? Follow these 10 simple steps to learn how to write a movie review and discover how to make money off your latest favorite movie.

First, watch the movie and then write the movie review. You may want to watch the movie more than once. In your review article, give the name of the film and the producer, and the title of the movie in the first paragraph. Don’t make the reader guess what movie you are reviewing. To ensure your review is a hot subject, chose a movie from the list of top rented movies or blockbusters.

In the introductory paragraph of your review, state the type of movie or the genre the movie belongs to: such as fiction or non-fiction, horror or crime drama, cult classic, romance or western. Make sure you put the name of the star(s) of the movie and the title of the movie in your article headline and in the introductory paragraph so it will come up in the search engines. If this movie is part of a series or it is a remake of a similar movie, tell the name of the series or give the name of the original film and the original film stars.

Now that the stats are out of the way, you are ready to begin your review. Write your review as if you were talking to a friend and you want your friend to see the movie. Keep your tone conversational. Tell what you enjoyed about the movie and why.

Briefly describe the setting of the movie. Is it a place you would like to visit someday or stay far away from? Does the character travel to interesting places or meet interesting people? How well does the setting match the story line? Or could the setting be just about anywhere in the world?

Describe the movie’s main characters. Give your opinion on what characters you liked and disliked.

Write a brief summary of the plot but never give away the ending or any unexpected twists. Tell enough about what happens in the movie to know whether the viewer will find it interesting, but not so much information they can guess the ending! Summarize the plot in a way that will answer some questions about the movie, but leave other questions in the viewer’s mind. It may help to make a list of questions about the movie for yourself before you begin writing your movie review.

Include a short quip or sound bit from the movie. Allow the viewer to get a feel for the style of the film. Use just a few quotes and remember to use quotation marks in your review to identify the passage as lines from the movie.

State your final opinion on if this is a (1) movie to buy, (2) a movie to borrow or (3) a movie to forget. If you are reviewing an older movie, state if the movie has been honored with awards since it was first distributed. Don’t forget to edit and re-edit your movie review – quality workmanship is important.

Decide where to post your movie review: There are several sites you can post movie reviews, the first of course being your blog, website, MySpace or FaceBook page. However, to get paid for your movie review, considering posting it on freelance writing sites such as: Associated Content.com, Bukisa.com, Helium.com or Hubpages.com. Each of these sites allows you to publish movie reviews. You are paid by the views or hits your movie review receives. Therefore, the hotter the movie, the more searched the review, the more money you make.

Get the news out there right away! Once you have posted your movie review, use Digg.com, StumbleUpon.com, Xomba.com or my favorite, Twitter.com to let all your friends and family know you have published a movie review on-line. The more traffic you drive to your movie review, the more money you will make. Happy posting!
