The Last Airbender: Movie Review
Movie directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan. “Four nations, one destiny” I give it a 3 and a half stars.
Overall: The effects were cool, the story was good but the way it was executed was a little too fast for me. I saw this movie in 3D but it could have well been seen in 2D.
The story begins with: the Southern Water tribe’s Sokka and Katara, they were out hunting and all of a sudden they find the Avatar in the ice. The movie followed some of the plot of the cartoon. In this movie, they only focused on the First book of the story. In my opinion, the story could have been better if they spend more time with the other cities that they were going through. They should have left some mystery. Some parts could have been sped up and other parts could have been more elaborate. There was action, emotion and a little bit of a love interest.
The effects were cool, each character who had a bending skill showed off their skills. Even Katara’s fail bending was seen as well. In the movie, the avatar only learned the water bending skill. He still has two more to go. His personality was a little off from the movie. The movie missed out on some details that were important. For example, the necklace that Katara had was important and she gave it to Aang which had something to do with her trust in him.
Hopefully in the next movie, they add details that they missed. These details are important to the storyline and it would make the movie interesting and add more emotion to it.
It ends with the avatar suceeding in his battle between the fire nation But the ending indicates a follow up movie.
