If you want a new television you really have to just choose between LCD or plasma. This article will give you some information on both to help you pick the type for you. Read on.

Think about where you are going to put your television. If you want to put your TV in a room that has a lot of brightness from the sun you should look for an LCD screen. They are brighter televisions which will help reduce any glares. If you plan on putting it in a very dark room go for a plasma screen. They are not as bright and they have better viewing angles which is good for couches/chairs on the sides.

Think about the refresh rate on your television screen. A lot of LCD screens have a slower refresh rate than a plasma screen. That means if you watch a lot of sports, action movies or play video games on it they are a bit blurry and the lag. They plan on making LCD televisions with a much faster refresh rate which will be a bit more expensive. You do not have to worry about blurry or lagged screens with a plasma TV.

If you want size they are both good picks. If you want something that is smaller than 40” you may have to go towards a plasma TV. There are not many choices in finding an LCD TV under 40 inches. Also, the picture quality is good for both models. However, there is a rumor that LCD’s are a bit sharper in picture than plasma screens. You will have to look for yourself to really see the difference.
