How to Cope With TV Cliffhangers
Admit it. Chances are you will be caught eventually, anyway.
Admit that you are addicted to your favorite TV show. Right now, if I don’t see the main character on Chuck (guess who it is!) get with Sarah soon, I feel like I will go mad.
You don’t have to feel this way. If you watched the X Files romance dance or any similar every week every season cliffhanger you know what I’m talking about. Don’t go mad constantly trying to crack the code on How I Met Your Mother.
Here’s a few ideas to cope until next week, week after that, and more when you are left hanging. (Let’s not even mention Heroes. Who knows what will happen next? Hopefully the writers!)
Use social networking, blogs, and forums to find other fans. Chat with them about what is driving you nuts and discuss possibilities. Also find fanlistings.
Join any newsletters and watch any online minisodes. TV networks have fallen in love with the internet and want you to visit your sites. Thusly, they are packed with fan-friendly incentives.
If you are willing, start writing fanfiction or a blog about the show and what you might want to happen. Maybe even roleplay with others. Just remember to include a disclaimer that you don’t own the characters. While it may seem obvious you are just a fan it is a good idea to include it for legal purposes.
Don’t let it get you down when you are left hanging! Find a fun way to continue the entertainment, especially with other fans.
